Dance Trials for the Devon Games to Inspire

Girls from Teign School dance club learnt some new moves and put their choreographic ideas together for trials to be selected to represent the Teignbridge at the Devon Games to Inspire later this term.  There were only five places left to make up the team and dance teacher Mrs Morris and Teignbridge’s Dance Practitioner Katherine Nietrzebka had a difficult task with so much talent on offer.

Dartmoor 3 Ball Tournaments

Winning team Doddiscombsleigh showed how it’s done when they won all four of their games at a tournament recently.

The popular ‘Dartmoor 3 Ball’ game has been played by local primary school children across the Teignbridge area to find the best teams to play in the South Dartmoor Sport Partnership Finals that were played later on in the Summer term.

Teign School hosted a local tournament for its feeder schools which was well attended with eight teams playing in the Year 3&4 age group and five teams in the Year 5&6 age group.

‘Dartmoor 3 Ball’ was invented locally by the Sports Partnership as a simpler variation to the game of rounders. The game featured on Westcountry Television News a few years ago because of its local success in engaging so many children into sport.

Staff and students team together for the pink Race for Life at Clennon Valley, Torbay

Teign students and PE staff teamed up together to raise money for the Cancer Research charity. Many of the students had not been involved in one of these charity races and it was a great introduction to a 5K race while raising money to support friends and family.
